We have two sew day fundraising events a year. We just had one this past October 12, 2024. We made over $2,000! Please consider joining us in April 2025. Look back at this space for updates for when it is scheduled.
You will need to bring your own sewing machine and sewing supplies (thread, scissors, etc). We have room for 40 sewers to set up. We will provide ironing boards, irons, breakfast treats, lunch and snacks. Many will finish their quilt kit the same day and some take them home to finish and return to us when finished.
These days are fun filled with sewing, camaraderie, food, and great conversation. There are many kits to choose from and they are ready to start sewing. It’s only $45 to sew with us for the day. Keep an eye on this place for when the next one is scheduled. All sew days are at Newberg First United Methodist Church. For any questions, contact Hope Sprunger at 503-320-1846 or email us at quiltsforcops@gmail.com.
If you have bottles/cans for recycling, bring them to the weekly sew day any Thursday between 10a-2p. We are participating in BottleDrop and have blue BottleDrop bags to fill and turn in for donations. If you would like a blue bag to fill directly, these are also available for pick up on Thursdays when we meet.
If you shop at Fred Meyer or any Kroger store located across the U.S., check your local rewards program to see if they offer Quilts For Cops. If you live and shop at Fred Meyer in our hometown of Newberg, please consider signing up for Fred Meyer rewards so a percentage of what you spend gets rewarded to Quilts for Cops. Check out the Dontate pulldown at the top of this website for more information and links.
If your employer matches your donations through THRIVENT or BENEVITY, please consider donating to Quilts for Cops. Check out the Dontate pulldown at the top of this website for more information and links.
