Weekly Sewing

Come join us Thursdays!

Quilts for Cops sewers meet every Thursday to work  on the quilts from 10:00am – 2:00pm.   The schedule is very flexible so you sew when it fits your schedule.

The sewing can vary from week to week but some of what they work on are:

  •  sewing backing together
  •  sewing binding together
  •  sewing binding on after quilting is finished
  •  sewing quilt tops
  •  plus more!!!

We meet at Newberg First United Methodist Church located at 1205 Deborah Road in Newberg, OR.  Please park in the back and come in the door by the office.  Face coverings are optional and social distancing is observed.  Most bring their own sewing machine to use, scissors, and other supplies you may need.  Thread is available for you to use as needed.  And if you are staying for the day, don’t forget your lunch or you may be hungry by the time you finish.

Interested in sewing but not available on Thursdays for the day?  That’s ok, too.  Stop by and pick up a pre-package quilt kit that will have the pattern and fabric all ready to go. Some of the patterns will have the fabric pre-cut but some patterns will require you to cut the fabric. You can look through the kits to select the one that works for your ability. Take the kit home, work on it as you are able and return it on a Thursday when finished.  And if you are a long arm quilter and can do the quilting as well, that’s awesome!
