Sgt. Sean Collinson
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office
July 3, 2020 - Welches, Oregon
Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office released this statement: …deputies were dispatched to the Mt. Hood Village RV Park (65000 E. Hwy. 26) on a report of a suicidal subject who was armed. Deputies, including a crisis negotiator, began a dialog with the subject that went on for several minutes. During that time, a Sgt Sean Collinson and officers from the Sandy Police Department responded to the scene as well.

As the incident continued, an attempt was made to physically take the subject into custody. In the struggle, the subject produced a semi-automatic handgun, pointing it at Sgt Collinson. A Sandy Police officer then fired his duty weapon, striking the suspect. Additionally, during the event, Sgt Collinson was shot, suffering injuries to his arm and finger.

According to Portland Fire & Rescue, explosives like an M1000 are extremely dangerous because they are often poorly made and unstable. Deputy William Scobie

Rioters put on a relentless attack lasting several hours at the University Mall with waves of violence and periods of calm which were followed by coordinated attacks on Hillsborough County deputies and Tampa police standing in front of University Mall. Law enforcement deployed tear gas, clearing the crowd but more people began to show up. Heavily outnumbered and overwhelmed, law enforcement did everything they could to protect themselves and prevent more violence. Objects started to be thrown at the officers on the front lines. Deputy William Scobie took a beer bottle to the face that exploded and caused his head to drop down. Part of his neck was then unprotected, and he was hit by a brick in this unprotected area.
"It actually hit my carotid artery, which caused me to lose temporary consciousness. I just remember waking up on the ground. The deputies were asking me where I was shot. They thought I was shot. I was just telling them I got hit with a brick and could not feel my arms and my legs. They rushed to me to try and evacuate me. With the amount of people and stuff that were around, it was hard to get me out of there, so there were two Tampa police officers that had a car and they threw me in the back of the car and the Tampa police actually evacuated me to the hospital,” according to Deputy Scobie.
"I got feeling back in legs pretty quick. My right arm took about two hours. My left arm, I suffered a pinched nerve, and it was swollen. So, I had no feeling in my left arm for almost 24 hours, and I had a significant bruise on my neck," he said.
Thankfully Deputy Scobie has been able to return to work following this assault. We provide this quilt to him to let him know we care.

May 19, 2020 – Louisville, Kentucky
Around 1:30am Officer Patrick Dahlgren spotted someone sitting in a car stopped in a dark stretch of service road along the 6900 block of Bardstown Road near Fern Creek. Officer Dahlgren smelled marijuana as he walked up to the car. The suspect got out of the car and was patted down. The interaction was cordial at first, with the suspect telling Officer Dahlgren someone took his parking spot at the nearby apartment complex.
A few seconds later, the suspect is seen, on body camera footage, getting back in the driver's seat and reaching in the center console for what looked to be a drink. After he steps out of the car again, and with another officer walking up to the passenger side, the suspect looks to reach for something near the driver's seat. "Don't be reaching," Officer Dahlgren tells him. "Don't be reaching." There is a brief struggle and then a single shot is heard, from the suspect firing a gun. The bullet grazed Officer Dahlgren's shoulder. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
