Officer Jeffrey Creel Champaign Police Department May 19, 2021 – Campaign, Illinois | Around 3am Officer Jeffrey Creel and Chris Oberheim responded to a call for assistance on North Neil Street. When the two Officers arrived, they encountered an armed person and exchanged gunfire immediately. Both Officer Creel and Officer Oberheim were struck by gunfire and rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Sadly, Officer Oberheim succumbed to his injuries. We send our condolences to the family and department of Officer Oberheim. 💙 We send this quilt to Officer Creel to provide him comfort during this time. |
Deputy Eric Tollackson Vernon County Sheriff’s Office May 21, 2021 – Viroqua, Wisconsin | Deputy Eric Tollackson and another Deputy end up in a chase with a suspect. Sometime during the chase, the suspect turned abruptly and smashed his head into Deputy Tollackson’s head. Deputy Tollackson ended up with a small fracture to his nose. A few days later Deputy Tollackson was found unresponsive and was air lifted to Gundersen. It was found that he had a clot that formed from a tear in his carotid. The clot was successfully removed but Deputy Tollackson continues to recover and has not gained full movement or speech back. We send this quilt to Deputy Tollackson to provide comfort while he continues to recover. |
Officer Eric Mallory Hubbard Police Department May 24, 2021 – Hubbard, Ohio | Around 8:15pm Brookfield Police had responded to Bedford Road near U.S. Route 62 after Police pulled over a pickup truck for a traffic stop, and then the driver took off heading into Hubbard Township. The driver fled heading south on state Route 7 turning in the Flying J before turning around and ramming an Officer Eric Mallory’s Police vehicle. The suspect along with other passengers got out of their vehicle and ran but were later apprehended. Officer Mallory’s Patrol vehicle was totaled, and he suffered a broken nose and Knee cap. He was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital. We send this quilt to Officer Mallory to let him know we care. |
Trooper Densil Johnson Oklahoma Highway Patrol - Troop A May 21, 2021 – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma | Around 6:30am Trooper Densil Johnson was on traffic control for a motorist assist along I-40 and Sara Rd. While in his patrol vehicle another motorist struck his vehicle from behind. Trooper Johnson was taken to a local hospital for his injuries. We send this quilt to Trooper Johnson to let him know we care. |
Officer (name withheld) Corpus Christi Police Department March and May, 2021 – Corpus Christi, Texas | In two separate incidents, four Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department were stabbed when trying to apprehend a suspect. We send these quilts to these Officers to let them know we care. |
Officer (name withheld) Atlanta Police Department June 5, 2021 – Atlanta, Georgia | Around 4:30am an Officer was dispatched to a stranded motorist who had their hazard lights on while stopped on I-20. Once on scene the Officer put his emergency lights to warn traffic while a second Officer arrived to help shut down the highway. Soon after a vehicle passed the warning lights and crashed into the back of the first Officer’s patrol vehicle, sending his car into the stranded car and heavily damaging all three vehicles. The Officer had serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. A local QFC volunteer hand delivered this quilt to the Officer’s department. We hope it gives him some comfort while he recovers. |
Officer Rocco Bartolotta Oconomowoc Police Department 2020 – Oconomowoc, Wisconsin | QFC was made aware of an Officer that was injured last year and is still recovering. Officer Rocco Bartolotta had made a traffic stop and the driver/suspect became unhappy about receiving a ticket. The suspect head-butted Officer Bartolotta. Officer Bartolotta then attempted to remove the suspect from the vehicle. During the removal of the suspect from the vehicle the suspect fell on Officer Bartolotta and fractured the Officer’s wrist. We provide this quilt to this Officer to let him know we care. |
Officer (name withheld) x3 Englewood Police Department May 18, 2021 - Englewood, Colorado | Around 10:30am Officers arrived at an apartment complex at 1401 E. Girard Place where they contacted a man, who was with a female, inside a stolen vehicle. As they Officers were contracting the occupants of the vehicle, the male driver struck and then drug all three Officers. All three Officers were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. We send these quilts to these Officers to let them know we care. |
Special Agent William Wallace Texas Department of Public Safety April 23, 2021 – Haslet, Texas | Around 2:15pm DPS Criminal Investigation Division Special Agent William Wallace was conducting an investigation on Mainstay Way. The agent encountered a suspect in the area who then discharged a firearm, striking Special Agent Wallace. Special Agent Wallace was shot in the shoulder and at one-point neighbors saw him clutching his shoulder and stumbling down Salida Road looking for help. They called emergency personnel to assist him. Special Agent Wallce was taken to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth in serious condition. We send this quilt to Special Agent Wallace to let him know we care. |
Fire Captain Arnie Sandoval Los Angeles County Fire June 1, 2021 – Agua Dulce, California | About 11am an off-duty firefighter walked into Fire Station 81 in Agua Dulce and took aim at a fellow firefighter he had an ongoing dispute with. He also shot and wounded Fire Captain Arnie Sandoval during the incident. The suspect left the fire station, returned to his home which is set on fire before turning the gun on himself. Firefighter specialist Tory Carlon passed away from his gunshot wounds. We send our condolences to his family and department for their loss.❤️ Fire Captain Arnie Sandoval was taken to a local hospital for treatment. We send this quilt to Fire Captain Sandoval to provide comfort while he recovers. |
Sgt Nicholas Tobias St John Police Department May 20, 2021 – St John, Missouri | Around 6pm near Marshall Avenue and St. Charles Rock Road, Sgt Nicholas Tobias tried to pull a vehicle over for running a stop sign and having an expired temporary tag. While Sgt Tobias was at the driver's side window, the driver drove off, dragging Sgt Tobias with him. The incident was caught on a neighbor’s home security system. It showed the driver dragged Sgt Tobias 30-40 feet then tried to run into a parked vehicle to get Sgt Tobias to let go. Sgt Tobias became free of the suspect vehicle and rolled a few times. He was able to get up and walk away but suffered injuries that will take some time to heal. We send this quilt to Sgt Tobias to let him know we care. |
Officer Sauvage San Antonio Police Department April 16, 2021 – San Antonio, Texas | Around 11:30am Officer Sauvage conducted a traffic stop on a truck in the 2300 block of Pinn Road. As the vehicle came to a stop Officer Sauvage made contact with the occupants. When he opened the driver’s door, the front seat passenger fired a handgun. Officer Sauvage was struck on his hand, but he was able to return fire. Officer Sauvage was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. We send this quilt to let him know we care. |
Deputy Michael Hutton Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office May 20, 2021 – Limon, Colorado | Around 3am Deputy Michael Hutton was responding to a report of a theft in an area where semi-trucks parked at Highway 40/287, not far from I-70. Within seconds of being out of his car and investigating this theft, he was hit with a hail of gunfire and was hit multiple times. Deputy Hutton was able to call for backup after being shot. Deputy Hutton administer first aid to himself before backup arrived and emergency personal were able to transport him to a Denver Hospital. We send this quilt to provide comfort to Deputy Hutton as he continues to recover. |
Trooper Becky Seager New York State Police June 9, 2021 – Colesville, New York | Around 8:30pm Trooper Becky Seager and Broome County Deputies were called for a welfare check on East Windsor Road in Colesville. Once on scene they encountered the suspect who fired at them. Trooper Seager was hit in the hip. She was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital. She since has been released and is at home recovering. We send this quilt to Trooper Seager to provide comfort while she heals. |
K9 Ray Anchorage Police Department June 14, 2021 – Anchorage, Alaska | Around 2am Police responded to the Diamond Center about a suspect armed with a machete driving his vehicle into the entrance of the mall. The suspect was threatening mall security with the machete. Officers located the suspect and tried to speak with him and issued several warnings. The suspect refused to put the machete down or follow any commands given by the Officers. K9 Ray was deployed to assist with apprehension of the suspect. The suspect continued to fight even with K9 Ray deployed and actively latched onto his leg. The suspect swung the machete at K9 Ray and caused a laceration to one of K9 Ray’s legs. The suspect was eventually detained. K9 Ray was taken to a local pet emergency center where he received staples in his leg for the laceration. He has already been released back to duty. We send this quilt to K9 Ray to let him know we care. |
Sgt Adam Quintana Sgt John Styne-Burns Officer Gregory Hall Flower Mound Police Department May 26, 2021 – Flower Mound, Texas | Around 7pm Flower Mound Police Officers responded to a 911 call in the 2900 block of Termaine Drive from a suspects wife, who told Officers that her husband was making suicidal threats. Officers arrived and investigated the call by first interviewing the man’s wife, who had left the home and called from a neighbor’s house, then the Officers moved toward the house to make contact with the suspect. About 8pm the suspect started firing through the door, striking all the three Officers. Sgt. Quintana had bullet fragments to his face, neck and shoulders, Sgt. Styne-Burns took a gunshot to his vest and Officer Hall took a gunshot to his ballistic shield which caused cuts from debris. We provide these three quilts to these Officers to let them know we care. |
Chief James Lane Norton Police Department May 7, 2021 – Norton, Virginia | Chief James Lane was responding to a call about a shoplifter at a business near Norton Walmart on Commonwealth Drive. As soon as Chief Lane pulled up to the parking lot, he encountered a male pedestrian who began shooting into his vehicle, striking the Chief Lane. Chief Lane was airlifted from the scene to a hospital for treatment. We send this quilt to Chief Lane to provide comfort while he recovers. |
Deputy (name withheld) Putnam County Sheriff’s Office May 17. 2021 – Carmel, New York | Around 12:45pm along Route 301 around Canopus Lake near Fahnestock State Park a Deputy assigned to the patrol division was traveling west on Route 301 when his vehicle collided with a truck headed eastbound. The impact was forceful enough that the Kent County Fire Department had to use the jaws of life to extricate the Deputy from his vehicle. The Deputy was transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment. We send this quilt to give this Deputy comfort while he recovers. |
Detective Steve Orozco San Luis Obispo Police Department May 11, 2021 – San Luis Obispo, California | Around 5pm Officers arrived at an apartment in San Luis Obispo to serve the warrant, seeking the stolen property from the commercial burglaries. The Officers knocked and announced themselves but there was no response from inside the apartment. They forced the door open and found the suspect inside who immediately opened fire, and the Officers began retreating and shooting back. Detectives Lucas Benedetti and Steve Orozco were struck in the gunfire. Sadly, Detective Benedetti was killed. We send our condolences to the department and his family for this loss.💙 Detective Steve Orozco was taken to a local hospital for treatment. We send this quilt to provide comfort to Detective Orozco while he recovers. |
Officer (name withheld) Anne Arundel County Police Department May 15, 2021 – Pasadena, Maryland | Two people were sleeping inside a car around 7:15am at a residence in the 8000 block of Ritchie Highway, in the area where Pasadena meets Severna Park at Jumpers Hole Road. Officers arrived after receiving reports of an unknown vehicle in the driveway and woke the driver up but noticed a handgun in the vehicle. The car drove off and Officers pursued it into Severna Park in the area of Robinson Road and Ritchie Highway. The car briefly stopped, and Officers tried to reason with the driver before they fled again. One of the Officers was struck by the vehicle as it tried to get away. The officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries in stable condition. The car was inoperable after it struck the Officer and a guardrail, and both occupants got out of the vehicle and fled on foot a short distance when Officers were able to apprehend them. A second Officer was injured during the foot chase and had to be treated. We send this quilt to the second Officer hurt during the foot pursuit to let them know we care. |

Officer (name withheld) San Francisco Police Department May 28, 2021 – San Francisco, California | Around 7pm a female Officer confronted a man after he was making threats towards people at the intersection of Kearny and Commercial, near Portsmouth Square. The suspect started to attack the Officer. Bystanders near by jumped in to help until other Officers could arrive. Staffing shortages had left this Officer to patrol without a partner. The Officer was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries. We send this quilt to let this Officer know we care. |
Officer (name withheld) Denver Police Department May 8, 2021 – Denver, Colorado | Around 11pm an Officer approached a home in the 4200 block of Alcott Street in Denver’s Sunnyside neighborhood. The Officer and others were responding to a call about a person on a porch that they did not belong at. The Officers were fired on as they approached the porch. An Officer was shot in the leg and underwent emergency surgery. We send this quilt to provide comfort while this Officer recovers. |
Officer (name withheld) Philadelphia Police Department May 6, 2021 – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | Around 7:15pm on the 2400 block of Glenwood Drive in North Philadelphia a foot pursuit occurred. Two people were arrested, and two guns were recovered during the incident. An Officer was injured during the foot pursuit and was wheeled to an ambulance with an injured leg. We send this quilt to this Officer to let them know we care. |

The Officer was involved in a crash with another vehicle. The Officer was taken to the hospital with injuries. We send this quilt to this Officer to let them know we care. |
Firefighter (name withheld) Stafford Fire Department May 18, 2021 – Stafford Springs, Connecticut | Firefighters from seven departments in two states fought a brush fire, which burned four acres and came within 100 yards of Riverside Village II apartments. The crews were called to the fire about 6pm from Ellington, Union, Willington, Wales, Mass. and Monson, Mass. A firefighter fell and rolled 20 feet down a steep slope while battling the brush fire and had to be airlifted to the hospital. She was in Bay State Medical Center in Springfield with a broken leg. We send this quilt to provide her comfort while she recovers. |
K9 Odin Indiana State Police March 17, 2021 – Jasper, Indiana | K9 Odin was attending a training session during which he received a serious fracture to his right rear leg. K9 Odin required surgery and will hopefully be returning to work. We send this quilt to K9 Odin to let him know we care. |
Deputy (name withheld) Jefferson County Sheriff's Office May 28, 2021 – Cedar Hill, Missouri | Deputies went to the 8000 block of Lake Drive to serve a search warrant related to an ongoing missing person investigation that detectives believe could be a homicide. Police had been on scene for some time gathering intelligence before a man in the house realized they were there. When he did, he immediately opened fire on them. Police exchanged gunfire with the suspect, and the standoff continued for about an hour before the Deputy was shot about 10:45 p.m. He was taken to a hospital and had emergency surgery. We send this quilt to this Deputy to let him know we care. |
Officer (name withheld) x5 Meriden Police Department April 27, 2021 – Meriden, Connecticut | Around 5:30pm Meriden Officer had located a vehicle and had put a call out of their location and asked for additional resources to assist in identifying the occupants of the vehicle. The suspects saw Officers approaching and proceeded to drive their vehicle initially into two patrol vehicles and then into a third undercover vehicle. Officers, who had approached on foot, were struck by the vehicle as the driver proceeded to ram the vehicles a second time. The suspect vehicle was able to create enough space to drive over the sidewalk and escape heading west on West Main St. Officers were able to locate the vehicle around Ames Avenue and Lockwood Street. The occupants of the vehicle fled, but Officers were able to apprehend them after brief chase. As a result of the suspect’s poor decisions a total of FIVE Officers were injured and transported to areas hospitals for various injuries. We send these quilts to these Officers to let them know we care. |
Trooper Ashley Morales Wisconsin State Patrol May 24, 2021 – Eau Claire, Wisconsin | Around 9am near County Highway J on the westbound lanes of I-94 in Eau Claire County a passing vehicle struck the rear of a Wisconsin State Patrol vehicle, which had stopped another vehicle along I-94. The force of the impact pushed Trooper Ashley Morales’s patrol vehicle into the vehicle that had been initially stopped. Everyone in all three vehicles including Trooper Morales were injured and taken to local hospitals. We send this quilt to Trooper Morales to let her know we care. |
Deputy Walter Milam Kern County Sheriff’s Office April 18, 2021 – Bakersfield, California | Around 11am a crash occurred at 21st and L streets. Deputy Walter Milam and another vehicle collided with the front ends in the intersection. Deputy Milam suffered injuries from the crash and was taken to a local hospital. We send this quilt to Deputy Milam to let him know we care. |
Officer Richard Ruiz Pueblo Police Department April 30, 2021 – Pueblo, Colorado | Around 1am Officer Richard Ruiz was driving westbound on 4th Street. On one-way Court Street a pickup traveling northbound collided with Officer Ruiz’s vehicle right into the driver side door. The driver of the pickup was found to be a DUI. Officer Ruiz was taken to a local hospital for treatment. We send this quilt to Officer Ruiz to let him know we care. |
Officer Tyler Franks Prairie Grove Police Department May 4, 2021 – Prairie Grove, Arkansas | A 911 call was received from an address on Thurman Street around 8:30pm from the suspect’s mother-in-law. Officers including Officer Tyler Franks arrived on the scene and attempted enter a bedroom. The suspect fired multiple rounds from a shotgun and handgun at close range hitting Officer Franks three times. Officer Gibson was able to get Officer Franks out the house and immediately applied two tourniquets. Officer Franks was shot in the torso and upper legs. He underwent multiple surgeries and was in the ICU at Washington Regional Medical Center. We provide this quilt to Officer Franks to give him comfort while he recovers. |
Deputy (name withheld) Collier County Sheriff’s Office May 15, 2021 – Naples, Florida | A Collier County Deputy was injured in a crash on Pine Ridge Road and Logan Boulevard in the evening when the patrol vehicle and an SUV collided. We send this quilt to this Deputy to let them know we care. |
Deputy Stephen Carroll Anderson County Sheriff’s Office May 1, 2021- Clinton, Tennessee | Deputy Stephen Carroll was directing traffic Saturday night on Tri-County Boulevard when a vehicle struck him in the left lane. Deputy Carroll was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he had surgery for a broken leg. We send this quilt to Deputy Carroll to let him know we care. |
Officer Brian Sherman Metro Nashville Police Department May 4, 2021 – Nashville, Tennessee | Officer Brian Sherman responded to a home on the 7200 block of Sugarloaf Drive around 6pm for a call of a woman shot, but that the call was a setup. Officer Brian Sherman was shot in his left arm and was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. We send this quilt to Officer Sherman to provide comfort while he recovers. |
Trooper Steven Olwares Texas Department of Public Safety May 7, 2021 – La Salle County, Texas | An Angel Care Ambulance Service rig was stolen in Webb County and then traveled into La Salle County where it was spotted by an Encinal Officer. The driver refused to stop for the Officer and a pursuit ensued involving several agencies. During the pursuit, the suspect avoided an attempt by law enforcement to stop the vehicle and then intentionally collided with Trooper Steven Olwares’s patrol vehicle. Trooper Olwares was airlifted to the hospital for treatment. We send this quilt to Trooper Olwares to let him know we care. |
Constable Kevin Cordell Hill County Pct 4 May 13, 2021 – Hillsboro, Texas | Two suspects, who were wanted in Dallas for aggravated assaults and were also suspects in a homicide investigation, drove into Waxahachie at around 2pm. A Waxahachie Officer tried to stop the car, but the driver sped off, leading Officers from multiple agencies on a chase north on I-35 W and firing at them repeatedly. When the suspect driver made a U-turn to head south on I-35, a DPS trooper was able to use a PIT maneuver to stop the car near County Road 604 near Alvarado. The two suspects fired again at Officers. Precinct 4 Constable Kevin Cordell was attempting to prevent the subjects from entering I-35 when one of the suspects opened fire on the Constable Cordell’s vehicle. One bullet went through the windshield and struck Constable Cordell in the head before exiting his neck. He was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. We send this quilt to Constable Cordell to give him comfort while he recovers. |
